Компания Sharp объявила о разработке инфракрасного лазерного диода, который может быть безопасным для зрения пользователей.

Подобные лазерные инфракрасные источники используются в интерактивных игровых приставках для определения местоположения или расстояния до объекта, испуская инфракрасное излучение и детектируя отраженный свет. В качестве источника инфракрасного света в основном используются лазерные диоды.
Используемые сегодня лазерные диоды, обладая высокой плотностью энергии при попадании луча в глаз способны повредить сетчатку.

Sharp стремится заменить существующие лазерные диоды новым продуктом за счет использования того факта, что не требуется никакой переделки существующих конструкций.
