С появлением у покупателей первых проблемных PS4, Sony поспешила заверить в устранении всех недоработок и сообщила, что менее половины процента всех проданных на первом этапе в США консолей PS4 будут иметь какие-либо неисправности.

После поступления рекламаций от тех, кто первыми приобрел PS4, официальный представитель Sony заявил: "Эта небольшая доля отказов находится в пределах наших ожиданий при внедрении новых продуктов, а подавляющее количество отзывов о PS4 было исключительно позитивным". И добавил: «Мы внимательно следим за вновь поступающими отзывами, но думаем, что это единичные случаи, присущие первоначальному этапу освоения массового выпуска ".

Из отмеченных американскими покупателями недостатков встречаются и такие. Консоль не могла подключиться к телевизору. Проблема оказалась в разъеме HDMI. У некоторых пользователей были проблемы с обновлением нескольких игр.

Остается надеяться, что проблемы носят временный характер и будут устранены ужесточением требований к поставщикам комплектующих изделий, доработкой программного обеспечения. Иначе, даже доли процента при выпуске нескольких миллионов консолей превращаются в серьезный поток рекламаций.
