Это подразумевает, что со временем нам придется приобретать новые гаджеты для видео съемки в сверхвысоком разрешении 4K, которые должны оснащаться картами с объемом памяти, соответствующем повышенной детальности. Ассоциация SD уже подтвердила намерение представить следующее поколение карт SD, которые смогут поддерживать 4K видео. <br /><br />Анонсирован новый сверхскоростной формат, класс 3, известный также как U3. Возможности U3 превосходят показатели имеющихся сегодня карт, так гарантируется скорость записи не менее 30 МБ / с, чего вполне достаточно для записи видео в разрешении 4K. <br /><br />Пока еще не так много камер с поддержкой 4K видео, особенно тех, которые используют карты типа SD. Можно полагать, что с этим известием от Ассоциации SD производители бытовой электроники смогут реализовать поддержку новых карт в своих продуктах. Однако, не стоит ожидать, что первое поколение карт SD для 4K видео  будет также доступно, как сегодняшние карты в этом популярном формате.
