И, несмотря на это, до последнего времени три производителя в большей или меньшей мере продолжали инвестировать средства в развитие плазменной технологии. В первую очередь это относится к компании Panasonic, представившей в нынешнем году, что называется, лучшие плазмы всех времен и народов. Компания Samsung, хоть и не вкладывала  больших средств в разработки, но лишь в 2013 году урезала модельный ряд своих плазменных HDTV, тогда как LG сделала это еще в прошлом году и сейчас выпускает лишь недорогие плазмы бюджетного класса. <br /><br /><div align="center"><!--dle_image_begin:http://www.hdtv.ru/uploads/posts/2013-10/1382286653_plazma2.jpg|--><img src="http://www.hdtv.ru/uploads/posts/2013-10/1382286653_plazma2.jpg" alt="Плазма в свободном падении" title="Плазма в свободном падении"  /><!--dle_image_end--></div><br /><br />Общее снижение объемов продаж телевизоров в мире более всего ударило по плазменным моделям. Сейчас производители надеются возродить потенциал рынка благодаря новым технологиям Ultra HD и OLED, и плазменные модели в такой ситуации не имеют особых перспектив. Данные за второй квартал 2013 года показывают, что продажи плазменных телевизоров упали на 19 %, по сравнению с предыдущим годом.
