Новый план реструктуризации предусматривает  50 % сокращение работников или почти 3000 рабочих мест, в том числе 400 работников будут переведены в другие отделы. Кроме того, Toshiba объявляет о намерении оперативно закрыть два из своих трех телевизионных заводов, которые расположены в Китае, Индонезии и Польше. Для поддержания необходимого объема производства, Toshiba будет использовать услуги субподрядчиков, которым теперь будет доверено почти 70% производства телевизоров Toshiba, против 40 % в настоящее время.
