Вслед за Samsung объявившим о серьезных скидках на свои OLED телевизоры (которые, наверное, толком вне пределов Кореи пока никто и не видел на прилавках), LG объявила о скором выпуске функционально урезанных и более доступных 65 и 55-дюймовых UHDTV. И почти сразу же во многом аналогичное решение обнародовала Sony.<br /><br />Sony снижает цены на 65 и 55-дюймовые UHDTV серии X9 на $1500 и $1000 соответственно (цены для рынка США). В настоящее время 65X900A можно купить за $6999 и 55X900A за $4999. Предстоящее снижение цен доведет их до уровня $5499 и $3999 соответственно. Снижение цен значительное, но до массового рынка UHDTV еще далеко.<br /><br />А также компания  планирует представить еще две версии этих моделей серии X900 без боковых  динамиков с использованием магнитной жидкости. Такие UHDTV Sony будут продаваться по цене $4999 за 65"версию и $3499 для 55" версию.
