В качестве научно-исследовательской и производственной базы выбран уникальный завод Sharp в г. Сакаи – Sakai Display Product (SDP).<br /><br />В соответствии с сообщением, Foxconn намерена ликвидировать технологический отрыв корейских производителей, используя японский  научно-технический и производственный потенциал. В сообщении также отмечается, что если переговоры с Sharp срываются, Foxconn намерена искать в Японии других партнеров для разработки OLED панелей.<br /><br />Foxconn планирует начать  производство OLED панелей в 2015 году.
