По данным DisplaySearch, текущие производственные затраты на производство OLED панелей почти в семь раз превышают расходы на изготовление аналогичных по размеру ЖК панелей. По этим оценкам общая стоимость изготовления 55-дюймовой OLED панели составила в 1 квартале 2013 года $2454. Основная причина такой ситуация заключается в большой доле брака. Каждые 7 из 10 панелей оказываются неэффективными по тем или иным причинам<br /><br />DisplaySearch ожидает, что выход годных панелей повысится и стоимость значительно снизится в течение ближайших двух лет, но она все равно будет значительно выше по сравнению с ЖК дисплеями. На самом деле они думают, что в следующем году стоимость упадет на 36%. Но для данного рыночного сегмента и это серьезная разница, OLED дисплеи не будут конкурентоспособными даже при такой более низкой разнице в цене.<br /><br />Практически, в настоящее время единственным производителем OLED телевизоров является LG с их 55-дюймовыми моделями, которые продаются за $10 000 ($13 500 с вогнутым экраном) в Корее , за $15 000 в  США  и ожидаются в Великобритании ,  Индии,  Израиле, .. . Остается ожидать, когда Samsung сможет наладить массовое производство своих OLED HDTV, а также должны появиться модели от Sony и Panasonic, ожидаются китайские модели на основе тайваньских OLED панелей.
