С 30 мая в течение двух дней NHK будет показывать в Токио свои последние разработки, связанные с форматом Super Hi-Vision. В настоящее время у NHK и ряда других японских производителей есть полный спектр съемочного и передающего оборудования с поддержкой разрешения 8K. Некоторые компании, такие как Sharp, готовы наладить выпуск телевизоров большого формата с разрешением 8К.<br /><br />Но в целом Super Hi-Vision больше пригодится для публичных видео  центров с огромными экранами. Super Hi-Vision имеет разрешение экрана 33 мегапикселя (7680 х 4320 пикселей) или в 16 раз превосходит разрешение HDTV. Для съемок быстро движущихся объектов в формате SHV, исследователи из NHK и университета Сидзуока разработали датчики с максимальной  частотой обновления изображения 120 кадров в секунду, с 10 или 12- битным кодированием цвета.<br />
