Глобальный веб-сайт Sony-Optiarc будет закрыт до 31 марта. <br /><br />Компания была создана 3 апреля 2006 года в качестве совместного предприятия между Sony и NEC Corporation. В 2008 году Sony получила полный контроль над Optiarc, сделав ее дочерней компанией. Sony Optiarc владела 10-15 % доли мирового рынка оптических дисководов в 2012 году. Но компания сообщила об операционных убытках в связи с сокращением рынка ноутбуков и активизацией конкурентов.
