Стрингер после этого  был назначен сначала исполнительным председателем, а затем председателем правления совета директоров Sony.<br /><br />По сообщению Bloomberg, Стрингер заявил о намерении прекратить свою деятельность в компании Sony, официальная отставка будет принята в июне этого года на совещании с акционерами компании, когда будет представлен и преемник на это вакантное место в правлении Sony.<br /><br />Многие сегодня неоднозначно оценивают вклад сэра Стрингера в развитие компании, сам Говард заявил о желании поработать далее в компаниях, которые занимаются здравоохранением или образовательными программами.
