Самый успешный в финансовом плане производитель полупроводниковых чипов собирается  освоить производство больших специализированных интегральных микросхем (т.н. систем на кристалле – SoC) для телеприставок и развивать собственный бизнес по предоставлению потокового видео.<br /><br />Следует отметить, что это вторая попытка компании расширить сферу сбыта своей продукции. Два года назад Intel участвовала разработке первого Coogle телевизора, но не достигла серьезного успеха, как и первый вариант этого потокового видеосервиса Google. Теперь Intel намерена изготавливать микросхемы и телеприставки для собственного видеосервиса, который изначально ориентирован на американский рынок. <br /><br />Есть предположения, что такие TV приставки позволят не только смотреть видео из интернета, но и закачивать туда свои медиафайлы для хранения в собственном персональном хранилище, в т. н. «облаке». <br />
