Остин, штат Техас. Со второй половины 2013 года там должно начаться производство полупроводниковых чипов для портативной электроники. Электронные чипы будут производиться с использованием 28-нанометровой технологии.<br /><br />В научно-исследовательском центре Samsung будут заняты около 200 инженеров. Всего в Остине на Samsung работает 2500 штатных сотрудников, из которых 300 являются бывшими  высококвалифицированными военными специалистами. Таким образом, компания Samsung поднимает экономику США и открывает новые рабочие места. <br /><br />Samsung является одним из крупнейших иностранных инвесторов в штате Техас на сегодняшний день. Общий объем инвестиций компании в Samsung Austin Semiconductor с 1996 года превысит 15 миллиардов долларов.
