Патентное ведомство США выдало патент, который описывает метод создания бесшовных дисплеев для складных устройств. Заявка была подана Samsung 12 октября 2010 года и  11 декабря 2012 года была зарегистрирована. Она описывает метод для вывода изображения на несколько соединенных вместе дисплеев. <br /><br />Складной дисплей устройства включает в себя две дисплейные панели, которые шарнирно соединены друг с другом. Пиксели, расположенные на стыке двух панелей, разделены расстоянием примерно 1 мм, так что черная полоса появляется между изображениями. <br /><br />Для того, чтобы свести к минимуму ширину черной полосы, расстояние между пикселями на стыке дисплейных панелей должно быть сведено к минимуму. Согласно технологии Samsung, «пиксели на границе будут меньше, но ярче, позволяя снижать ширину границы раздела между панелями». Патент может быть применен к OLED, плазменным и другим типам дисплеев.
