Имеющиеся сегодня растягиваемые электроды достаточно сложно применять в электронных устройствах. Очень трудно одновременно обеспечить высокую проводимость и растяжимость, которые являются взаимоисключающими параметрами.<br /><br />В институте технологий Samsung разработаны композитные материалы из нано частиц серебра и волоконной основы, которые совместимы с подложкой из любых материалов.<br /><br />Исследователям удалось  сделать электрические цепи методом напыления и струйной печати. Были получены гибкие и растягиваемые антенны, датчики и светодиоды. Есть планы по изготовлению носимой электроники в виде текстильной и мембранной одежды.<br /><br />Подобными разработками сейчас не менее активно занимаются и многие другие крупные производители электроники.
