Тем, кто не успел купить огромные проекционные или лазерные модели телевизоров Mitsubishi, наверное, уже не удастся это сделать. Компания официально заявила об отказе от дальнейшего производства таких телевизоров, которые были самыми дешевыми бытовыми дисплеями сверхбольшого размера.

Причиной такого решения стала конкуренция со стороны ЖК телевизоров, которые с каждым годом становятся все больше и дешевле. Лидером здесь выступает японская Sharp со своими 90-дюймовыми ЖК телевизорами. 84-х дюймовые начинают продавать LG и Sony.

Вместе с тем Mitsubishi заявила о том, что техническая поддержка ранее проданных моделей будет сохранена. Не исключено, что подобные модели лазерных и проекционных телевизоров будут еще предлагаться на профессиональном рынке США. Компания сообщила, что останется только на профессиональном рынке видео продуктов, включая проекторы и мониторы.
