Проверка была инициирована появившимися сообщениями об использовании на заводах Samsung детского труда. Так сообщалось, что студенты составляют 80 процентов рабочей силы. Находясь в "тех же суровых условиях производства, что и взрослые работники" они получают только 70% от заработной платы.<br /><br />По результатам официальной проверки отмечается, что компания не использует детский труд и в дальнейшем ужесточит условия приема на работу, чтобы исключить случаи приема на работу несовершеннолетних.<br /><br />Samsung заявила, к концу 2012 года все поставщики компонентов из Китая обязаны «устранить нарушения в трудовых договорах и использовать одну копию для всех сотрудников". Отменены пени и штрафы за прогулы или опоздания. Samsung заявила, что работает над системой, которая устранит чрезмерные сверхурочные работы к концу 2014 года.<br /><br />Кроме того, на всех заводах должно быть "обеспечено соблюдение мер по безопасности труда". Медицинские аптечки должны быть легко доступны на предприятиях и в общежитиях. Менеджеры должны также получить дополнительный инструктаж о недопустимости сексуальных домогательств, физических и словесных оскорблений. Будут созданы горячие линии для тех, кто хочет анонимно подать жалобу.<br />
