Apple зарабатывает полмиллиарда на TV хобби


Объем продаж приставок Apple TV по сообщению компании почти удвоился и достиг 5 млн. штук в год. Таким образом, в денежном выражении объем продаж составил около полумиллиарда долларов.

Между тем, приставка Apple TV по-прежнему занимает очень маленький сегмент в товарном ассортименте Apple. Компания, как и прежде, называет этот бизнес скорее хобби. Правда теперь утверждает: "Это любимое хобби, но мы продолжаем фокусироваться на нем и считаем, что в этом что-то есть".

Apple TV продолжает пользоваться популярностью среди владельцев планшетов и смартфонов Apple в США, так как помогает добавить новые функциональные возможности при соединении с интернет через эту ТВ приставку, предлагает популярные в Америке потоковые услуги с выводом на большой экран телевизора с помощью технологии AirPlay и пр.
