Хотя Samsung ранее заявляла о том, что гибкие OLED дисплеи под брендом Youm  будут представлены в третьем квартале 2012 года. Но, столкнувшись с проблемами массового производства, компания решила не торопиться. Между тем Samsung продает традиционные AMOLED панели на стеклянной подложке без признаков замедления.<br /><br />В отличие от обычных дисплеев, которые основаны на стеклянных подложках, новые гибкие модели будут использовать пластиковые и таким образом позволят создавать необычные модели, над которыми уже трудятся маркетологи и дизайнеры.<br /><br />Так, например, Samsung экспериментирует с конструкций, в которой чтобы взглянуть на дисплей не нужно будет его открывать, а достаточно чуть вытащить планшет или смартфон из сумочки и отогнуть край экрана.
