Sony прекращает производство оптических СD/DVD приводов


Sony намерена закрыть свое подразделение Optiarc Inc., которое было основано в 2006 году для производства оптических приводов к компьютерам.
Решение о выходе из этой сферы бизнеса было принято несмотря на успешные продажи продуктов компании, по причине убыточности производства из-за низких цен, сложившихся в результате жесткой конкуренции в этом сегменте рынка. Сегодня Sony контролирует около 15% мирового рынка оптических приводов.
