Новые владельцы торговой марки телевизоров Philips отказались от развития этой разработки, объясняя это тем, что спрос на такие телевизоры оказался ниже ожидаемого. <br /><br />Philips выпустила первый 56" Cinema 21:9 ТВ в 2009 году.<br />В 2010 году обновленный Cinema 21:9 с поддержкой 3D была выпущен с экраном 58 дюймов.<br />В 2011 году модели телевизоров Cinema 21:9 с экранами 58 и 50 дюймов были усовершенствованы и оснащены самыми передовыми системами видеообработки и технологиями компании Philips. Эти две модели сверх широкоформатных телевизоров пока еще доступны, но только до окончания распродаж складских запасов.<br />
