Олимпийские игры 2012 года в Лондоне является одним из крупнейших экспериментов с точки потокового вещания, и спрос оказался ошеломляющим.<br /><br />Британская радиотелевещательная корпорация BBC представила показатели сетевой активности зрителей олимпийских событий.<br /><br />Зафиксировано более 18 миллионов уникальных посетителей олимпийских потоковых трансляций BBC. Но основная масса зрителей использовала  для доступа к Олимпиаде компьютер или смартфон (56% и 33%) , далее следует планшет (8%). И только 3% пользователей решили использовать свои Smart TV, специально предназначенные для просмотра потоковых телетрансляций Олимпийских игр через Интернет.
