Компания делает ставку на многоядерные процессоры в мультимедийных системах и потребительской электронике. <br /><br />Предыдущий восьмиядерный чип разработанный Toshiba еще в 2008 году и отличавшийся повышенной производительностью, недавно был серьезно усовершенствован. Процессорных ядер стало сразу в восемь раз больше, 64 ядра разделены на два кластера по 32 ядра и ориентированы на различные типы обработки данных, имеется встроенный контроллер памяти DDR3. При тактовой частоте 333 МГц, скорость обработки информации повысилась в 14 раз, в сравнении с 8-ми ядерным предшественником. <br /><br />Новый чип вдвое экономичнее прежнего 8-ми ядерного процессора. Для обработки MPEG4-AVC/H.264 1080p 30 fps должно хватать 500 мВт потребляемой мощности, в то время как обработка изображений с супер разрешением 4K2K 15 fps потребует 800 мВт.
