Если сейчас покупатели HDTV Samsung, Sony и некоторых других производителей вынуждены пользоваться скачиваемыми из интернет приложениями лишь для конкретной марки телевизоров, то владельцы телевизоров  LG, Sharp и Philips могут обмениваться едиными приложениями, создаваемыми на основе стандартизированного программного обеспечения  любыми программистами в сети.<br /><br />Таким образом, три компании смогут меньше тратить средств на поддержку смарт функциональности своих телевизоров и, при этом, наиболее полно удовлетворяя потребности отдельного сегмента покупателей, успешнее противостоять более развитым ранее cмарт конкурентам. Первые приложения для единой смарт платформы должны быть представлены на осенней выставке IFA 2012 в Берлине.<br />
