Отныне Plastic Logic будет заниматься разработкой и лицензированием технологий полимерных тонкопленочных (TFT) транзисторов, которые в качестве элементов управления будут интегрироваться в OLED дисплеи. <br /><br />В прошлом году г. Чубайс гордо заявил первым лицам государства о стратегическом партнерстве с Plastic Logic российской государственной компании Роснано, которую он возглавляет. Конечной целью этого партнерства является строительство в Зеленограде завода по изготовлению "пластиковых" дисплеев для российских школьников (аналог электронного учебника). По некоторым источникам, после заключения соглашения Plastic Logic получила инвестиции из российских госфондов в размере $ 700 млн.<br /><br />По сообщению slashgear.com, Plastic Logic до выхода на российский рынок предлагала свою технологию ряду зарубежных производителей. Но, после того как потенциальные покупатели негативно отреагировали на ожидаемую розничную цену, проект «читалки» был заморожен. В прошлом году компания выполнила вторую попытку, создав целевой рынка для своего "пластикового" дисплея в России. На основе не принятой в развитых странах технологии был разработан  монохромный Plastic Logic 100, который обойдется российскому школьнику в 12 000 рублей. <br /><br />А в прошлом месяце компания объявила о разработке нового цветного дисплея с использованием свыше 1,2 млн. пластиковых транзисторов, воспроизводящего 4000 оттенков цвета, при плотности пикселей   75 ppi.
