На недавней выставке Computex 2012 компания PQI демонстрировала карту памяти под названием Air Card с встроенным беспроводным интерфейсом Wi-Fi. Физически Air Card представляет собой карту памяти формата SD. Будучи установленной в фото/видео камеру или другое устройство, Air Card может работать как точка доступа Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n, позволяя оперативно обмениваться информацией с домашним телевизором, ресивером, компьютером, оперативно передавать в интернет отснятый материал. В Air Card имеется слот для карт памяти формата microSD, что позволяет менять заполненное хранилище файлов. Беспроводной режим, при необходимости, можно отключать, тем более что он серьезно увеличивает энергопотребление.

Компания PQI собирается начать массовый выпуск карт памяти Air Card уже этим летом, они будут поддерживать microSDHC (4 Гб ~ 32 Гб) Class10 .
