OLED дисплеи Sharp выполнены с использованием белых OLED субпикселей (WOLED), аналогичную технологию LG использует в своих новых 55 дюймовых OLED телевизорах. <br /><br />Плотность пикселей в новых OLED панелях Sharp достигает 326 ppi (пикселей на дюйм). Первая панель размером 13.5 " имеет разрешение 3840x2160 (QFHD). Другая OLED панель с диагональю 3,4 " обладает разрешением 540x960 пикселей при такой же плотности 326 пикселей на дюйм.<br /><br />Новые OLED панели Sharp выполнены с использованием разработанной в Токийском университете и впервые внедренной на заводах Sharp технологии IGZO, которая позволяет использовать для управления отдельными субпикселями панели более эффективные тонкопленочные транзисторы (TFT) на основе индия, галлия и цинка (InGaZnO), сокращенно — IGZO. <br /><br />Еще в январе этого года президент Sharp заявлял, что компания не планирует пока выходить на рынок OLED, но очевидно, либо последние события в мире поменяли планы, либо компания хочет отработать перспективные прототипы, готовые к производству при появлении повышенного спроса на OLED панели.
