Причем заявленная ранее стоимость становится все ниже.  Первоначально Toshiba оценила свой 55 дюймовый телевизор в $11800, а первые продажи  в Японии стартовали с уровня $11500. Для американского покупателя с начала 2012 года 55 дюймовая модель безочкового 3D 4K телевизора обойдется примерно в $10000.<br />  <br />Toshiba 55LZ2 обеспечивает 4К разрешение, которое составляет  3840x2160 пиксел, но только в режиме 2D.  Платой за безочковый 3D эффект становится  снижение разрешения до 1280x720 пиксел. Возможность виртуального восприятия зрителем эффекта объемного изображения достигается за счет покрытия поверхности экрана миниатюрными лентикулярными линзами, которые обеспечивают чуть разные углы зрения для правого и левого глаза.<br /><br />Toshiba на выставке CES 2012 будет демонстрировать этот телевизор, который, по утверждению компании,  значительно улучшен, в сравнении с показывавшимся на прошлогодней выставке прототипом.<br />
