В последнее время появились сообщения о том, что Microsoft предлагает производителям HDTV свою технологию для встраивания в телевизоры, что по мнению представителей Microsoft произведет революцию в системе домашнего театра. Поскольку система  Kinect способна распознавать пользователей и их жесты, можно будет обходиться без пультов управления для взаимодействия, как с телевизором, так и с удаленными интернет сервисами. <br /><br />Из производителей телевизоров в качестве возможных партнеров упоминается и компания Sony, которая вряд ли может согласиться с предложением, учитывая непосредственную конкуренцию между компаниями на рынке игровых консолей.
