Первоначально единственным поставщиком дисплеев для iPad была компания LG, впоследствии Apple ужесточила требования к поставляемой продукции и в круг поставщиков были допущены Samsung и Sharp. <br /><br />Новые iPad3 с дисплеями повышенного разрешения Apple тестирует уже с июля. Сообщается, что было принято решение использовать две линейки LED источников подсветки для ЖК дисплея вместо одной в прежнем поколении планшетников Apple. Один миллион новых дисплеев повышенного разрешения должен быть поставлен на сборочные предприятия Apple в октябре и два миллиона в ноябре. Серийная сборка iPad3 начнется в январе, а продажи марте-апреле 2012 года. <br /><br />Есть предположения, что в новом поколении будет и iPad мини, в котором будет использоваться 7,85 дюймовая панель.
