Новый материал должен, по мнению компании, найти широкое применение в качестве стеклянной подложки для жидкокристаллических и OLED панелей. <br /><br />В соответствии с утверждениями представителей Corning, физические свойства Lotus Glass позволят ЖК и OLED панелям отображать более естественные цвета при одновременном cнижении энергопотребления. Тепловые свойства нового стекла позволяют ему сохранить свою форму в процессе горячей обработки при изготовлении ЖК и OLED панелей, что позволяет избежать неприятных эффектов деформации.  <br /><br />Lotus Glass уже запущено в производство, но пока нет никаких сообщений о том, когда этот  материал будет использован в продаваемых продуктах с дисплеями. <br />
