Жидкокристаллический 47 дюймовый	 телевизор необычен тем, что в нем использована не задняя и не традиционная боковая LED подсветка, а т.н. вертикальная LED подсветка.  <br /><br />Суть нового подхода заключается в том, что светодиоды подсветки расположены лишь с одной боковой стороны экрана. При этом удалось сохранить высокую яркость и значительно снизить энергопотребление экрана за счет меньшего количества LED источников.<br /><br />Яркость показанного 47 дюймового ЖК LED дисплея составляет 400 кд/кв. м, а потребление энергии лишь 28 ватт. Это меньше чем у любого телевизора с размером экрана 40 дюймов и более. Даже компьютерные мониторы потребляют в среднем 30 – 50 ватт.
