Сегодня каждый производитель смарт телевизоров стремится расширить набор приложений, доступных лишь на его подключаемых к интернету HDTV. Opera предлагает инструменты для разработки приложений, которые будут доступны с любого смарт телевизора.<br /><br />Некоторые контент-провайдеры уже выразили заинтересованность в подобном подходе. Не должны остаться в стороне и производители телевизоров, по крайней мере, те из них, кто не располагает пока достаточно привлекательным ассортиментом приложений. К тому же использовать даже не бесплатные программные инструменты выйдет  дешевле и удобнее, чем встраивать и обновлять поддержку приложений на аппаратном (чиповом) уровне.  <br /><br />Опера уже выпустила эмулятор, чтобы сделать проще жизнь для небольших разработчиков приложений, которые по той или иной причине не могут позволить себе целый стенд телевизоров для тестирования приложений. <br />
