Устройство выполнено на основе полимерных композитных материалов. P-OLED прототип может быть растянут до 45%,  а композитные электроды могут растягиваться до 50% с небольшими изменениями в сопротивлении. Однако это не первый растягиваемый OLED материал. Еще в 2009 году, исследователи из Токио показали безразмерные OLED панели, которые, правда, состояли из множества маленьких отдельных панелей.
