Все чаще компании начинают разрабатывать мониторы с электропитанием и подачей видеосигнала через интерфейс USB. Но компания Samsung пошла дальше и, используя технологию компании Cisco – UPOE (Universal Power Over Ethernet), разработала монитор Samsung SyncMaster NC220, получающий электропитание через интерфейс Ethernet. Оттуда же поступают и видеоданные для отображения на экране.

Более того SyncMaster NC220 может работать вообще без системного блока, в т. н. режиме zero client. Такой вариант особенно удобен для офисного использования, так как сокращает расходы на обслуживание и программное обеспечение.

Подробных характеристик монитора Samsung SyncMaster NC220 пока не представлено, известно лишь, что он выполнен с использованием LED подсветки ЖК матрицы. Начало продаж и стоимость пока не объявлены.
