Покупка бренда Pentax, оцениваемая в сумму $124,2 млн. и позволит компании освоить более престиждую продукцию.<br /><br />До недавнего времени фотокамеры Pentax делала японская компания Hoya, известный производитель оптического и медицинского оборудования. Отныне компания собирается сконцентрироваться на основном бизнесе. Pentax был в свою очередь приобретен Hoya в 2007 году, сегодня эта торговая марка входит в десятку наиболее популярных цифровых фотоаппаратов, с долей рынка в 1,5 процента. При этом продажи в 2010 году упали на десять процентов и составили 1,63 миллиона штук.
