Сумма сделки составляет $8,5 млрд., но ее судьба некоторое время зависела от решения антимонопольных органов США, которые недавно разрешили покупку.<br /><br />Покупка Skype нужна Microsoft для привлечения дополнительных пользователей  к своим программным продуктам типа Windows и Office. Сегодня Skype  пользуются 145 млн. человек и им, по-видимому, придется выдержать новую рекламную нагрузку. Кроме того, Microsoft активно продвигает свою мобильную платформу Windows Phone, чему очень будет способствовать Skype за счет его включения в связной сервис Microsoft.
