Портативные устройства теперь могут иметь разрешение на уровне Full HD и даже выше, а за счет сверхплотной упаковки отдельных пикселей они практически уже неразличимы человеческим глазом.<br /><br />Так компания Toshiba показала 4-х дюймовую LCD panel с разрешением 720x1280 при плотности пикселей 367 ppi (пиксель на дюйм). Это выше чем у дисплея Apple iPhone 4, который обладает плотностью  326 ppi и такой же статической контрастностью 1000:1.<br /><br />Но не только ЖК дисплеи повышают разрешение. Более качественной становится и электронная бумага (ePaper). Компании E Ink и Epson представили новый образец дисплея подобного типа.
