Google TV неожиданно затормозила свое развитие в конце года, несмотря на это Samsung представил на выставке CES 2011 прототип Blu-ray плеера с поддержкой платформы Google TV.<br /><br />Новый плеер Samsung, если он будет производиться,  может использоваться как обычный Blu-ray плеер, а после соединения с интернет будет давать доступ к видеосервисам на базе Google TV. В состав такого плеера будет входить пульт дистанционного управления с полнофункциональной компьютерной клавиатурой для упрощения навигации по видеосервисам.<br /><br />Стоимость  такого Blu-ray плеера Samsung пока неизвестна, а перспективы дальнейшего развития Google TV туманны, после того как многие телеканалы закрыли доступ к своим веб-ресурсам для обладателей Goоgle телевизоров, приставок и плееров.<br /><br />В настоящее время Goоgle дорабатывает программное обеспечение и по некоторым утверждениям договаривается с владельцами видеоресурсов.<br />
