В память USB-накопителя Kingston DataTraveler 300 может поместиться содержимое десяти однослойных Blu-ray-дисков, 365 компакт-дисков емкостью по 700 МБ каждый, 54 DVD-фильма объемом по 4,7 ГБ или 51 тыс. цифровых фотографий, снятых в разрешении 10 МП. <br /><br />256 ГБ также равны емкости около 50 тыс. MP3-файлов, 26 тыс. аудиокниг, 290 часов видео или примерно 195 тыс. текстовых документов в формате Microsoft Word. Все эти данные производитель приводит на своем сайте для того, чтобы пользователь как можно более объективно смог оценить предлагаемый объем. <br /><br />В комплекте с DataTraveler 300 поставляется программное обеспечение Password Traveler, которое дает возможность шифрования данных. Кроме того, флешка Kingston может использоваться в качестве дополнительной оперативной памяти в компьютерах под управлением Windows Vista (посредством технологии ReadyBoost). Скорость записи информации в DataTraveler 300 составляет 10 МБ в секунду, чтения — 20 МБ в секунду.
