Istanbul будет конкурировать с 6-ядерными процессорами Intel Xeon под кодовым названием Dunnington, появившимися в продаже в сентябре прошлого года. <br /><br />Процессор будет изготавливаться с использованием 45-нм технологии, работать на частоте 2,6 ГГц и обладать 6 МБ кэш-памяти третьего уровня. Сообщается о поддержке DDR2, HT-3 и технологии AMD Virtualization. <br /><br />Чип будет совместим с сокетом F1 (1207), поэтому его можно будет ставить в существующие серверные системы. В зависимости от конфигурации в одной системе может быть до 8 процессоров Istanbul с общим числом ядер 48 штук. Цена процессора пока не сообщается. <br />
