В Сети появилась информация о том, что компания Micro-Star International (MSI) активно занимается подготовкой к выпуску нестандартной по дизайну собственной версии графического адаптера ATI Radeon HD 4890 на основе созданного по 55-нм технологии чипа RV790 с 800 потоковыми процессорами.

Как сообщается, модель MSI R4890 Cyclone построена с применением высококачественной элементной базы, включая более надёжные конденсаторы Hi-C CAPS, снабжена подсистемой питания, выполненной по формуле 5+2 фазы, и может похвастаться фабрично повышенной до значения 1 ГГц частотой графического ядра. При этом отмечается, что охлаждением ускорителя занимается оригинальный по конструкции двухслотовый кулер активного типа, включающий наличие четырёх медных тепловых трубок, две из которых толщиной 8 мм каждая изготовлены по фирменной технологии SuperPipe.

Ожидается, что первая публичная демонстрация необычной видеокарты состоится в рамках международной выставки Computex 2009, которая пройдёт со 2 по 6 июня в Тайбэе.
