В то время как большинство потребителей не хотели бы платить за защищенный контент, индустрия продолжает разработку спецификаций для защиты от копирования. Компании, продвигающие беспроводное HD, утвердили новый стандарт для защиты беспроводной передачи видео и звука. Спецификации Digital Transmission Content Protection (DTCP) теперь включают в себя защиту HD контента при беспроводной передаче.
