LG N4B1: NAS теперь и с Blu-ray

Компания LG представила подключаемый к сети накопитель N4B1 (Network Attached Storage, NAS), отличающийся от своих многочисленных собратьев наличием пишущего оптического привода Blu-ray. Предполагается, что пользователи оценят возможность миграции неиспользуемых данных или создания архивов средствами самого накопителя. Помимо этого, корпус ориентированного на малый бизнес и домашних пользователей устройства предусматривает установку до 4-х жестких дисков общей емкостью до 4 Тб, с поддержкой RAID-массивов уровней 5, 0, 1, 1+0, а также JBOD. Подключение к сети осуществляется через порт Gigabit Ethernet.

К N4B1 можно подключать внешние устройства, для чего в нем предусмотрены три порта USB и один e-SATA. Размеры накопителя – 190 x 289 x 280 мм. Начало продаж ожидается в декабре 2009 г. Объяснением несколько неожиданного проявления активности LG в новом для нее сегменте устройств может служить ее собственный прогноз на увеличение мирового объема продаж NAS в 2009 г. более чем на 2,2 млн устройств, благодаря устойчивому росту потребности в системах хранения и резервирования с высокой емкостью.
