DivX7 будет поддерживать MKV Наряду с видео форматами H.264, DivX, XviD и MPEG-2 будет использоваться и формат (а точнее контейнер) Matroska (MKV).

Особенностью MKV является возможность содержать в себе комбинацию кодеков, например, таких как x.264 video, DTS audio при поддержке различных языков. Данный формат уже начинает вытеснять AVI и имеет очень хорошие перспективы.
Основная проблема заключается в поддержке. MKV уже поддерживает VLC плеер и, как обещается, следующая версия DivX также сможет проигрывать данный формат.

Это, конечно, еще не означает, что все производители решат присоединиться к поддержке формата, тем не менее, уже сделан шаг в нужном направлении.
