Компания TDVision Systems продемонстрировала на выставке SID (Society for Information Display) 2008 в Лос-Анджелесе новую технологию трехмерной визуализации фильмов, записанных на дисках формата Blu-ray. Разработка технологии велась с 2001 г., сообщает techradar.com.

По словам разработчика, технология TDVCodec совместима с существующими оборудованием и Blu-ray-дисками, читает с них обычный двумерный видеопоток высокой четкости и преобразует его в трехмерную картинку без потери качества, цвета, скорости обновления и разрешения.

Единственным ограничением технологии является тот факт, что она работает лишь на системах, где стоят чипы 3D DLP компании Texas Instruments. Сегодня лишь два производителя выпускают проекционные телевизоры с такими чипами – это Samsung и Mitsubishi. Когда новая технология появится на рынке, неизвестно.
