Американская компания XtremeNotebooks, штат Невада, представила новый мобильный компьютер, который может быть оснащен четырехъядерным процессором, рассчитанным для настольных систем. На выбор предлагаются два четырехъядерных чипа: Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 и Q6700, но также существует возможность установки и двухъядерного процессора – Intel Core 2 Duo E6700 или Core 2 Extreme X6850.

Компьютер оснащен 17-дюймовым дисплеем с разрешением 1680 x 1050 или 1920 x 1200 пикселей. Объем оперативной памяти может составлять 4 ГБ. Количество винчестеров может достигать трех, емкостью 250 ГБ каждый. Видеосистема ноутбука Xtreme 917-V может включать две видеокарты Nvidia GeForce Go 7950 GTX или Nvidia GeForce 8700M GT с памятью 512 МБ, работающие в параллельном режиме SLI. Охлаждением жестких дисков и видеосистемы занимаются отдельные системы вентиляторов.

Вес компьютера без аккумуляторной батареи – которая, к слову, рассчитана примерно на 1 час автономной работы – составляет более 5 кг.

Заказать ноутбук можно на сайте производителя. Стоимость базовой конфигурации с четырехъядерным процессором составляет $2900. Цена топовой конфигурации превышает $10 тыс.
