Компания InPhase Technologies объявила о выпуске коммерческой версии системы записи оптических дисков, основанной на голографическом принципе. Линейка продуктов Tapestry уже была продемонстрирована на выставке NAB-2008 в апреле этого года.

Носители Tapestry представляют собой пластиковые диски в 130-мм картриджах; запись осуществляется «синим» лазерным лучом 405 нм, аналогичным используемому в Blu-ray. Объем хранимой информации зависит от пишущего устройства и составляет от 300 Гб до 1.6 Тб.

В серии приводов InPhase представлено три модели:
WORM Gen 1 tapestry™300r 300GB, 20MB/s
WORM Gen 2 tapestry™800r 800GB, 80MB/s
WORM Gen 3 tapestry™1600r 1.6TBGB, 120MB/s

Что касается перезаписываемых носителей, то они пока находятся в разработке.

Гарантированный срок хранения голографического диска – 50 лет. Привод для записи стоит 18 000$; диски – 180$ за штуку.
