Несмотря на отмирание формата HD DVD, компания LG заявила, что собирается продолжить разработку своих двухформатных HD плееров, способных проигрывать как HD DVD так и Blu-ray диски. <br /><div align="center"><img src="http://hdtv.ru/uploads/posts/2008-02/1203686231_lg_bh100_super_multi_blu_hd_disc_player.jpg" style="border: none;" alt='LG продолжит разработку мультиформатных HD плееров' title='LG продолжит разработку мультиформатных HD плееров' /></div><br />Хотя подобные устройства стоят дороже чем одноформатные плееры, скорее всего не найдется много желающих приобрести эти модели, тем не менее, LG не хочет отступать от своих позиций. Daniel Aziz, директор по маркетингу компании LG, заявил, что 'существует еще много потребителей, кто выбрал формат HD DVD и уже собрали большую коллекцию дисков этого формата. Поэтому LG до сих пор рассчитывает на это рынок и продолжит выпускать двухформатные плееры и развивать их технологическую базу'. Я не разделяю энтузиазма LG на этот счет. Если бы я был обладателем HD DVD, зная при этом, что будущее за Blu-ray, я лучше бы подождал, пока цены не упадут, и приобрел бы в итоге Blu-ray плеер. <br /><br />Конечно, это означает два отдельных устройства, два источника питания, два пульта… но зато экономия. Осталось дождаться и узнать, как долго LG будет уверена в своих мультиформатных целях.
