Обладая прежним диаметром 3,3 мм, новый полупроводниковый лазер способен  работать  на мощности 250mW, благодаря чему   скорость записи двухслойных Blu-ray дисков на ноутбуках может достичь 6х. Компания также представила лазер с диаметром пучка 5,6 мм  GH04P25A2G для больших ноутбуков.  Обе новинки стоят порядка 50000 йен, эквивалентная цена в долларах США -  462. Их массовое производство начнется в апреле.
